Juanita…I have never heard that before so good to know. I always kept my batteries in my freezer and my husband thought I was nuts. Turns out, that’s not necessary for the way batteries are made today. So I guess I just got some more room in my freezer! Thanks for sharing! Deb – The Oldest Sister

He said that you should put electrical tape on the ends just in case they get jostled so they don’t short and start a fire. Doesn’t hurt to know. Maybe not for before storage but when you put them aside to recycle (because we all know that it is supposed to be illegal to throw batteries in the garbage even though I think 99.5% of the population does it)
