I usually get a roast between 3-4 pounds and it is a whole stick of butter (1/2 cup). And I just made soup yesterday in my old crockpot – takes a lickin’ but still keeps tickin’!! Sure hope you remember that commercial! haha Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words! Deb

My daughter rec’d a crockpot at her shower. She BEGGED me to trade with her, because she wanted to use the one she grew up with, LOL. I’m now an empty nester, so I agreed. But, I can’t wait to try this, and need to know if that was a whole or 1/2 stick of butter..it looks like 4 tbs in the pic. Also, how big is the roast?

I made this for my boyfriend and his family, along with some mashed potatoes, too. I wish the recipe were bigger, cause it was SO good and we devoured it!! Can’t get easier, can it?!

Leftover sauce for gravy. I actually tried it and did not like it at all. I don’t much care for the flavor of the sauce. Only the flavor that it brings the roast. But, my daughter said she loves this sauce so much that for her gravy is a done deal. And, if not gravy then she laps up the sauce with a piece of bread. EW! LOL

Abbu…you will have to make some and see if it’s your cup of tea! :))

In reply to Mindy. I ditto adding the pepperoncini peppers. Found Vlasic brand, 12 oz jar in the pickled pickles sectio. I bought mild too. I had ranch dip on hand so not sure how it is using dressing but this roast recipe is super moist seasoned amazing. Unsalted butter for sure. Two Thumbs up. Way UP!!

I’m actually cooking this now I couldn’t find the recommended peppercinis so I opted for one spicy pepper found in the produce section – I hope it still turns out ok !

Just saw this post and thought I would mention the peppers add this amazing bit of flavor that really takes this roast to the next level, you do not have to eat the peppers but you really should try the recipe with them included!
