Brownie Swirl Chocolate Chip Cookies

A decadent brownie and sweet chocolate chip cookie all wrapped up in one taste sensation.

Ingredients
  

  • Brownie Batter:
  • 10 Tablespoons butter softened
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 2/3 c brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1/2 c cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Batter:
  • 10 Tablespoons butter softened
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 2/3 c brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 c chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Start with the brownie batter. Cream the butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and beat the mixture until it's smooth and light in color.
  • Mix the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt) in a separate bowl. Whisk them together and then add gradually to the butter mixture. Mix until combined. Cover and refrigerate while you make the chocolate chip cookie dough.
  • For the chocolate chip cookie dough, cream the butter and sugars. Add the vanilla and eggs and beat until the mixture is smooth and the color is light. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients and chocolate chips to the butter mixture gradually and mix until it's all combined.
  • Using a cookie scoop (approx 1 Tb), scoop 12 balls of each dough. Using one of each dough, press the dough balls together and use your hands to roll them into a ball shape.
  • Bake the cookies, in batches of one dozen, for 12-14 minutes. Remove them from the oven and allow to cool on the baking pan for two minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool completely.
