Using a stand or hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together.
Mix in the egg and vanilla.
In a separate small bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly mix in the flour mixture into the egg and sugar.
Stir in 1/2 cup of the toffee bits.
Shape the dough into two 7 inch logs and wrap them in plastic wrap.
Chill for 2 hours or until firm.
Preheat oven to 350.
Unwrap the dough logs and cut into 1/4 inch slices.
Place cookies on a cookie sheet lightly sprayed with cooking spray and sprinkle with the remaining toffee bits.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy.
