HI, I also use the same recipe as you and somehow I also bought the same baby shampoo as your picture.
I try this method for about a month now for my hair and I swear it really did a great job….
However I did try to add the essential oil but somehow I feel it is kind of weird during my first wash so I just remove the essential oil from the recipe but it still smell just great.

I add half teaspoon of coconut and olive oil and my ration for coconut milk to baby shampoo is 2:1.

I start to use it to wash my body too, and it did an incredible job on my skin too, it feel like i really bath with milk, my skin tone is lighter and smoother…..

Aveeno Baby Shampoo is a great alternative to the J&J. It is paraben free, soap free and tear free. I have found it at Target, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! Tracy – The Middle Child

Only thing that makes this bad is the J&J soap. If it’s got ‘parabens in it, it’s NOT healthy. Breast cancer survivor here, you learn to adjust items you use on your body. 🙂 If you use anything on any part of your body with parabens, I’d strongly recommend you stop. Love the coconut though!! 🙂 Is there an alternate to the J&J?

Just an update on the Bloglovin’ situation… I’m still getting comments in my feed, but I noticed they are comments on posts I haven’t read, so the posts aren’t being fed to the feed, only the comments. Most strange.

In reply to Camila Jauregui Rangel. I`m very anxious to try this recipe. I`ve given up on the conventional shampoos 2 weeks ago and was using a baking soda/water mix. This sounds better. I was getting impatient for the "detoxing" of chemicals as my hair is long. But i definitely preferred the results anyway as my hair felt more natural. For Camila Jauregui Rangel and all else. I also stopped buying conditioners 6 months ago and started using APPLE CIDER VINEGAR only. The results are phenomenol!! There are several methods but I simply put it in a spray bottle and spray it on my hair after shampooing and rinse out at the end of shower. You will not believe the natural shine your hair will have. .. Thanks again for this recipe. :)

Kristen,

You can keep the ingredients/shampoo at room temperature. It should last at least 2 – 3 weeks before any possible spoiling. Keep in mind it might take a week or two for all the chemicals from any store bought shampoo to be removed from your 4 year olds hair. Give it 2 weeks to see if it works for you and your family. I’m on week two and my hair is doing better than week one 🙂 Good luck and let me know what you think!

Hi! I am eager to try this for my 4 yr old who has skin allergies but also thin and curly hair! Question. . . How long can this mixture keep? Do I need to keep in fridge I’m assuming no, but how long can it keep in shower? Thank u!!

In reply to Camila Jauregui Rangel. I condition every other shampoo, just a little on the ends. Conditioner really tends to weigh down the curl in my hair. Since I no longer blow dry or use a straightener on my hair split ends are not a problem :)
