Oh boy! What kills mold is a hot topic. I just know for sure my shower looks great after using this method and I am still using it!

Peroxide, DOES kill mold. Bleach will not penetrate through to the initial cause BUT peroxide will, it actually oxidizes and kills and can penetrate . Good luck!

Well you just returned the favor! It made my day to read that you enjoyed my post. If we lived in the same town we would go to lunch, just the three of us. Candy doesn’t eat lunch, but she loves dessert! She is a light eater, so whatever she can’t handle, I’ll just finish off. She and I have had a lot of good times. You would like her. But now you may not want to be my friend anymore, seeing that I am in my 40’s and still have a close relationship with my childhood friend. 😐 That girl is making me fat. Her eyes are always bigger than her stomach when it comes to dessert! At least she has a clean looking shower!

Love Mr. Clean! Try cleaning vinegar on the cotton coil to break down the hard water. Hope that helps!

Thanks! I’m going to try both to see which works better on my brother’s bath tub! They have rust in their tub & I’m willing to try anything! Just HATE the thought of the kids using that yucky bath tub! If you know of something better to get rid of the sulfer stained, rusty looking tub, I’m willing to try ANYTHING! Thanks

When my Mom was sick and living with us I cleaned like a mad woman constantly. I sprayed everything with Lysol, bleach/water combos, etc.. One of the hospice nurses told me that while many cleaners do kill 99.9% of all bacteria there is a reason they don’t kill .01%. The .01% bacteria they are referring to are spores and mold has spores. Mold must be scrubbed and then rinsed. Spores cling to surfaces and are likely to start back up if not scrubbed away.

Hi, Marlene. This works well for maintaining a clean looking shower. We have had various concerns and opinions about permanent mold removal. I am no expert there, and there is plenty of info out there for all to research and make a decision that is right for them. Thanks for taking the time to comment and make sure we are all well informed!

Please, look it up. Don’t fool yourself that you have helped get rid of your mold problem.

There is good news though, you CAN kill mold with vinegar. Vinegar won’t remove the stain of the mold, so you would still need to use bleach to get rid of the stain. Also, you can spray hydrogen peroxide on the mold, then vinegar, no rinsing, and after about 5 minutes, rinse them both away, and it will kill 99.9% of all bacteria, or something close to that. Google it if you are unsure. 🙂

for soap scum use. equal amounts of Blue Dawn dish soap . and white vinegar . Heat the vinegar in the microwave for 30 seconds . add to the dawn and spray on soap scum and shower doors. scrub and rinse. Works great.
