Hi, guys! Silly question: does it have to be a lemon (or, I saw someone mention they used a Lime)? Could I get away with using an orange? I tried another variation on this theme a while ago with dried coffee grounds from our morning cup a’ as the main “scent,” but I think I might like a citrus smell even better. thanks for the info!!

In reply to Renee. I had the same exact thing happen to me the first batch I made. I re crumbled them and added more lemon juice this time to make them wetter than the first batch and then I packed them really hard! This definitely helped. They are a little fragile, but

What a great idea. I just made two batches, one for the house and one for the RV. Sometimes the RV grey water holding tank gets a little funky. I am hoping this helps.

If yours won’t stick together, you can probably just put the powdery end result into a jar and use a teaspoon/scoop and scoop them out that way and drop the powder down the sink while running the water. I couldn’t get “bath bombs” to stick together so I just spoon the powder out, and that works just fine for me. You’ll still get the benefits. Cheers!

In reply to Sara. I've made quite a few batches of these this week and I can't seem to get them not to crumble. I tried putting them in the oven as mentioned in the comments and that has helped some but not much. I wonder if I should make them smaller or bake them longer? My first couple batches I let sit out the rest I have been baking.

I made mine last night with a LIME from the fridge and popped one in the disposal a few minutes ago.
The lime fragrance was so fresh that I wanted to pop another one in …lol. This recipe is absolutely awesome , thanks.

I too was having a problem with them being “crumbly”. It must depend on the amount of moisture (size of lemon, etc). I popped the baking sheet (parchment and all) into the oven at 250 for about 5 minutes, and voila! Dried them all up and no more crumbliness! And my kitchen smelled lovely while they were cooking and cooling.

This is probably a silly question but do you just throw them into the garbage disposal and turn it on? Water running? I can’t wait to try this, I’m 8 weeks pregnant and can smell everything that goes down the sink, yuck! Thanks 🙂

I Tried your recipe for the garbage disposal refresheners and left them to dry overnight. They did not harden, they just fell apart when I picked them up. Has any one had this problem. ? please let me know how to remedy this, Thanks
