Dearest Lissa, I too can never experience a Mother’s Day without reminiscing about that day 28 years ago (can you believe that?!) and going through it with my eternal friend! I would seriously do back flips if you drove up so we could do lunch and if I’m down that way, I will definitely let you know.

This time of the year always reminds me of you holding up a little baby girl in lavender ruffles. It was at that moment that Mother’s Day became the worst holiday in my life, to the day I celebrate the joy and blessings and privelege of being a mom! Love you for that! We didn’t have a lot of fresh fruits and veggies in our house either and by the time I went to university I didn’t know how to cook or prep fresh food. I didn’t even learn how to cook until I was married! There were many embarrassing moments in the kitchen with friends and family but I like to think I’ve made up for it by now. And I can’t stand the sight of canned veggies! lol
