DIY Floating Frame

Post
We have Carissa from Carissa Miss on the blog today sharing this darling DIY Floating Frame!
This DIY Floating Frame project came at a request from my husband. He’s been begging me for years to get art up on the walls and I’ve resisted because I didn’t want to commit to just anything. Plus, nice art is expensive! You don’t just rush into those kind of decisions. Ha. Well, I should’ve done this years ago because not only is it very affordable but it also was very quick! The moment he walked in the door and saw what I had done he said the whole house was changed for the better. So, now, you should make your own!
I had this over-sized art print pinned from Young House Love on Pinterest but I really wanted something floral like this pin from Hunted Interior so I blended them to make my own framed floral piece.

Follow Carissa from {Carissa Miss}’s board Art Ideas on Pinterest.

 What you need:
{1} 1 x 3
Dark Walnut Stain
Sandpaper
Nail gun and/or Staple gun
Gift Wrap Similar Here
Cut 2 lengths the same length as your poster and then 2 shorter pieces to go inside

Using the stain, stain and sand until the wood has look you want

Using the nail gun, nail the frame together

You can use wood glue as well to make the frame sturdier, but since this isn’t holding glass or anything I went for the quickest route. My automatic staple gun was too strong so I used my handheld one to staple the paper poster to the back

I’m really happy with how much it cheers up my gloomy hallway.

I have multiple requests from the hubby for other empty walls in the house. I guess I don’t have an excuse anymore…

Hope this has inspired you to get some of those Pinterest projects done! Here are some FREE PRINTABLES to get your creative juices flowing!
